Ramon Andal Continues Conversation on Rectifying Anti-Asian Legislation

On May 26 and 27, Ramon Andal attended the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers’ (FACL) annual conference. The keynote speaker was Professor Constance Backhouse, who led a discussion on the history of racist bias in Canadian legislation, including the implementation of the Chinese Head Tax, which was law from 1885-1923. Ramon was one of the founders of FACL in 2007, following his work with Chinese Canadian lawyers to obtain an apology and redress for the Head Tax.
